Golden Oldie. (MACgolold). McGredy 1997; 'Maiden Voyage' x 'Orange Honey'; 3 reports on 3 bushes; 3 years; 90cms; 7.4 rating. Smaller bush with dark green foliage. Marlborough find this a pretty garden rose always in flower. Feilding has lovely golden blooms with a lovely first flowering but repeat is slow. Has rust and black spot. Another Marlborough grower finds the colour lovely with huge heads. Great repeat, flowers profusely.

Golden Oldie (MACgolold) McGredy 1997; 'Maiden Voyage' x 'Orange Honey'; 6 reports on 6 bushes; 2-4 years; 80cms; 7.3 rating. Smaller bush with dark green foliage. Marlborough find this a pretty garden rose. Auckland like the bright clusters - it looks great beside 'Trumpeter'. Repeat is good. Good display as a garden rose. North Harbour find it a very good garden rose which flowers continuously. North Otago have a compact healthy bush and they like the colour and form. North Taranaki have masses of blooms with a quick repeat and healthy foliage.

Golden Oldie (MACgolold); McGredy 1997; 'Maiden Voyage' x 'Orange Honey'; 9 reports on 12 bushes; 1-3 years; 70cm, 7.5 rating. Smaller bush with dark green foliage. Marlborough find this another good small rose. Healthy and vibrant colour. Auckland like the bright clusters - it looks great beside 'Trumpeter' . Repeat is okay. North Harbour find it a wonderful rose, great colour, masses of blooms, quick repeat and very healthy. North Otago have a compact healthy bush which is very showy. North Taranaki have masses of blooms with a quick repeat and healthy foliage. Hutt Valley like the small, vibrant frilled blooms. Their bush is healthy, but did take some blackspot in autumn. West Otago find the colour lovely and it makes attractive large heads.

Golden Oldie (MACgolold); McGredy 1997; gold apricot; 5 reports on 5 bushes; 1-2 years; 70cms; 7.4 rating. Smaller bush with dark green foliage. North Otago says healthy foliage and quick repeat. Lots of blooms. Nelson likes the frilly deep gold colour but it fades and the bush has taken some black spot. Marlborough found their bush healthy and the blooms had a vibrant colour with a quick repeat. Lush foliage. Waikato found their bush small and the flowers and heads also small. Taranaki said their bush was covered in blooms but like Waikato they had some downy mildew.

New Introductions for 1998. Golden Oldie (Macgolold)Floribunda. Healthy plant of low, compact habit with masses of pretty apricot/orange flowers in large trusses. A wonderfully prolific flowerer, very quick to repeat and a highlight of vibrant colour for any bed or border.
