Translation: A Selection of the Best Roses since 1855 by Jean Soupert of Soupert & Notting in Luxembourg. The season from 1861 to 1862 was exceptional, richly blessed with novelties; there were just 90 varieties added to commerce, namely 1 China, 3 Mosses, 3 Remontant Mosses, 1 striped Gallica, 5 Teas, 2 Noisettes, 9 Bourbons and 66 Hybrid Perpetuals. Of these sorts we recommend the following: 2.
