Henri Foucquier Gallica. Before 1842. The origins of this rose are not known and what information we do have is contradictory. There are a number of roses named for members of the Foucquier family: 'Joséphine Foucquier', Louis Foucquier', Amédée Foucquier', 'André Foucquier', 'Edmond Foucquier', 'François Foucquier', 'Marie Foucquier', 'Sophie Foucquier', 'Stéphanie Foucquier', and 'Charles Foucquier'. 'Henri Foucquier' was listed in Van Houtte's catalog of 1842. It was more often to be found in the catalogs of Belgium nurseryman than it was in those of the French.
