Bred by Alfred Crace Calvert (France, before 1829).
Introduced in France by Jean-Pierre Vibert in before 1834 as 'Rose de Trianon'.
Class:
Damask Perpetual.
Bloom:
Pink or rose-pink.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Medium to large, semi-double to double, in large clusters, cupped bloom form.  Prolific, occasional repeat later in the season.
Habit:
Short.
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Parentage:
If you know the parentage of this rose, or other details, please contact us.
Notes:
Vibert wrote in 1846 that he found this rose in the seedlings section of a nursery named Trianon belonging to an Englishman in Rouen. This points to Calvert as breeder. The later attribution to Prévost seems incorrect.
The "seedlings of 'Rose de Trianon' are the results of 5-6 generations of crossings.
