'Herzog von Windsor' rose Description

Bloom:
Vermilion. Strong fragrance. 27 petals. Average diameter 4". Double (17-25 petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Height: 30" to 4¼' (75 to 130cm). Width: up to 2' (up to 60cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew, susceptible to rust .

Notes:
Named for the former Edward VIII 1894-1972. The breeder told Harry Wheatcroft the correct parentage for this rose is 'Spartan' x 'Montezuma', and that's the one we've used here.
On 3 June 1937, the Duke of Windsor, who had abdicated the British throne, married Wallis Warfield Simpson in Monts, France.
