‘Bayadère’ = Hybride de Thé… riche camaïeu de roses et d’orange saumoné, avec une touche de jaune canari à la base des pétales, le tout rehaussé de fines veinures sombres… parfum léger … feuillage vert bronze. Bien rustique, il se plaît cependant mieux en climat favorisé. Mallerin, France, 1954.

Bayadère Hybrid Tea. Mallerin (France) 1954. Description... a melange of salmon-orange to pink colors, with a canary yellow base and noticeable veining... The name may have been given with reference to the petal veining, because bayadère is a fabric in which the stripes run crosswise; it can also mean an Indian dancing girl...
