'Mrs. F. W. Sanford' rose Reviews & Comments

'Pride of the Valley' was exhibited, under that name, in the Crystal Palace by D. Prosser of Gloucester in 1897 (see Gardeners’ Chronicle, 1896, p. 33), a year or two before 'Mrs. F.W. Sanford' appeared. The distinction seems to be that Pride has pink flowers that come white in the Fall, while Sanford has pink flowers that are always tinted with white. Chedane-Pajotin lists both, separately, as in for instance their 1911 catalog.
