Notes on the Newer Peonies, Season 1932
England—Kelway
James William Kelway. This is a very tall, erect, flower of very large size. It is a purple pink with many stamens showing. It should never be confused with 'James Kelway'. It is nothing like it. Many people like a peony of this style and color, and with them it will be a great favorite, but with many others it will only be one to be avoided.

[In discussion of James Kelway's peonies]:
His James William Kelway is a very large purplish pink, loosely built, that is tall and showy.

Peonies for the Future
There is a new one called James William Kelway, which is very distinct from the fine white 'James Kelway' now so universally planted. The new one is a very loosely built rose-colored peony, which shows stamens, and it looks as if it would be a very fine one.
