'Nymphaea' peony References
Book (1928) Page(s) 61. A List of Sixty Choice Peonies of the More Expensive Varieties White Varieties Nympaea (Thurlow). 8.8. White. Large flat flowers with wide, silky petals of delicate creamy white, notched at tips, and edges somewhat rolled; yellow stamens in center reflect a golden light throughout whole flower. Fragrant. Mid-season. We like Nymphaea very much. It is one of those peonies that remind you of a water-lily only it is much larger, and much more beautiful than any water-lily we have ever seen. A very refined flower and a real addition to our growing list of good peonies.
Website/Catalog (1927) Page(s) 26. Nymphea (Thurlow 1919) Delicate creamy white. Large flat flowers with wide silky petals notched at tips. Yellow stamens in center. Semi-rose type. In my opinion the most beautiful peony of the “waterlily” type so far introduced. Each $5.00
