‘Awakening’/’Probuzini’ = Grimpant à grande fleur. En 1988, Mr Dick Balfour, ancien président de la RNRS, visitait la Tchécoslovaquie lorsqu’il avisa un rosier assez proche du grimpant ‘New Dawn’, à ce détail près que la fleur renfermait le double de pétales. Il en rapporta des rameaux dont il confia la multiplication aux pépinières Peter Beales, et cette variété fut réintroduite en 1990 sous le nom de ‘Awakening’ (éveil)…. le rosier a tous les atouts de son parent: le parfum, la floraison de longue durée, la rusticité, l’excellent feuillage, et la docilité à se laisser conduire sur tous les supports imaginables ou presque.
