Please help me identify this old garden rose. I purchased it a few years ago from a plant nursery. They had it labeled as an unknown garden rose. It is a once bloomer, blooms in clusters, individual bloom size is 1 1/2 -2 ". Blooms are fushia/magenta with white in the center. The bush is very thorny, a sticky moss type and grows to about 4' with some arching canes that go higher. It has a nice or fragrance and does bear hips in the autumn. We live in Zone 6a. Thank you for help with id in advance.

Thank you! I've spent hours trying to find a match, and it seems 'Russellianna' could be it. In reading the descriptions, it said that it can get quite large, which is what was mentioned to me at the nursery where I had purchased it. Your help is greatly appreciated!

It is a pleasure Amslabaugh. There are some finer details on the rose in my 'Russelliana' comment of 16 August, 2011. Once you are really happy that you have a correct identification, you might think about passing the information on to the nursery so they may label their future sales. But give them the correct spelling.
