Clematis Listing Omission
Tenri no Asagasumi
We have grown this C. patens selection for nearly 15 years and treasure the large lavender pink flowers with their rounded, overlapping sepals. It is very free-flowering. Reddish anthers on pale filaments are an eye-catching detail. The Japanese name means "morning mist at Tenri."
May; August and September. 6-8 ft.
Lavender Pink flowers
Sun, Part Shade Zone 5-9 Early flowering in the spring on the previous year's growth. If you hard prune, you eliminate most or all of the early blooms. Instead, groom this after flowering by cutting back the top one-third to one-half of some stems. This encourages new growth for possible summer bloom.
