'Stiletto' rose Reviews & Comments

My Stiletto is from Edmunds', own root and planted in mid-April 2021 (Chicagoland zone 5b). Did not suffer harm from May frost like many of my newbies did. It's growing quite well now - I posted a pic of 6 blooms emanating from a single large basal break. In the sun and heat Stiletto turns more mauve - it's halfway between a hot pink and a full mauve - and with smoky edges - unique and beautiful color. Nice garden rose for me, decent form but blooms probably not large enough for exhibition. Seems like it wants to be a grandiflora. No fragrance for me yet and it's advertised as quite fragrant. It's a keeper for me at this point.

Mine has been fragrant. In fact, I have two now! Stiletto for me is what I felt Kardinal 85 should have been (of course, different color and scent) when I had it as a new rosarian eons ago. Tight spiral, easy cutting, lots of blooms of just the right cutting size, and nice color. And unlike Kardinal 85, the plant isn't a strange mess.
I missed the boat on getting Rebell (1996). It fits the same concept. Hopefully someone will re-introduce it in the future.
