Botrytis is a fungus. During wet weather, buds may fail to open and may be covered with a gray-brown mold. Petal tips are brown and soft. It can even be found on bare root roses -- when you receive them, they may be covered with a fuzzy, grayish-brown mold.

What can I do about botrytis?

Cut off and destroy any parts of the plant that are infected. You can also try spraying the plant with Daconil.
