Katsuhiko Maebara, who has been instrumental in the creation of the heritage rose garden in Sakura City called the Kusabue-no-oka Rose garden, belonging to the municipality of Sakura City, has been a great support to us. He has been systematically collecting our varieties and growing them to perfection in one section of this garden which he has, very generously , named ‘The Dreams of India Garden’. His enthusiasm and constant support have been a great help to us. We had sent him a hybrid Gigantea seedling code-named “Vircarmosine’ ( the parentage was Carmosine x R.gigantea) and after growing it for a couple of years, he said he liked it very much and wanted us to give it a name. We thought it most appropriate to name it for this dear and true friend, and continuing with his ‘dream’ vision, we called it’ Maebara’s Dream’.
