What an absolute oddball.
The unpopular colour, the usung, under the radar release, the unpopular climbing miniature class, the unpopular extreme thorniness, the fact no nurseries carry it presently, the fact that the last pictures and comments are from 2012-2015 (That's apparently 10+ years ago, crazy to say it...)
Based on all of this, does anyone grow this still or can this be assumed extinct?

Clearly it is not extinct as it is listed on HMF in nine gardens within the USA. Beauty is very much according to the individual.

You'll find many people don't update their garden listings as diligently as you'd think. I know for a fact that one of the person in the gardens listed does not grow it anymore. I know also I have not touched my own garden list here in some 5 years. "Clearly" is a bit much. :)

The color is very cool in person. Honestly, the only thing wrong with the rose was 1. it climbs and 2. black spot. Otherwise, it was super cool.

I love the color of this rose. I love the foliage of this rose. And I love the vigor of this rose.
With that said, I do not like this rose, and here is why:
I have grown a lot of climbing minis in my life. And I have never kept one. The longest that I kept was Warm Welcome. The problem with climbing minis is that theyre awkward and hard to manage. Breeders, take note: If you want a success in this class, it really needs to be extremely healthy (not defoliation) and thornless or nearly thornless. This would change a almost want to a must have, in this class.

I'm really pleased with this little rose. It's very healthy in my no-spray garden, with glossy foliage, lots of blooms, and even sets hips. The color is a little different from my other roses and I'm not sure that it's my very favorite color, but it grows on your and it's a fantastic plant for me so far.
