Bred by Dr. Keith W. Zary (United States, 1998).
Introduced in United States by Bear Creek Gardens, Inc. in 2000 as 'Apricot Passion'.
Introduced in Australia by Swane's Nursery/Swane Bros Pty Ltd in 2003 as 'Apricot Passion'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Apricot or apricot blend.  Mild, anise fragrance.  25 to 30 petals.  Average diameter 4.5".  Large bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:

Height: 47" to 5½' (120 to 165cm).  Width: 4½' (135cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .

... having long stems bearing high centered fragrant flowers; dark green, glossy foliage; vigorous upright growth and resistance to mildew and rust... Bloom Size: Large. Average open size is 41/2 inches... Average stem length is about 16 to 20 inches... Number of petals under normal conditions: 25 to 30... Fragrance: Moderate; anise... Lastingness: On the plant: Long (about seven to eight days). As a cut flower: Long (about eight to nine days)... At maturity, height is 51/2 feet, width is 41/2 feet... Resistant to mildew and rust, susceptible to blackspot under normal growing conditions...

Susie Boyd reports (April 2002) that all the Home Depots in Nashville, Tennessee, have plenty of 'Apricot Passion'.


sabdpb found one at a Home Depot in San Antonion, Texas, and reports it was in bloom and it was beautiful!
