The premier award, the Gold Star of the South Pacific was given to Denmark's Olesens Floribunda 'Enchantment' (POULskov), a low compact bush which literally covers itself with clusters of glorious soft salmon pink flowers. The flowers are not large and the shape is more reminiscent of old fashioned types. The bush is clothed in attractive green foliage which seems to be impervious of any disease and complements the flowers. Flowers come in big flushes and on awards day it was looking lovely and sixty people picked it as the winning rose.
