Cramoisi Picoté Gallica. No rebloom. Outstanding fragrance. Low, suckering and dense...Tose to rose-crimson, striped and edged with royal purple; the flowers are small but very pretty. Same as 'Oeillet Double' [ex l'Haÿ].

Cramoisi(e) Picoté(e) Vibert, 1834. Habit: can attain 2 m height; some prickles, bristles. Foliage: dark; small rounded leaflets, sometimes only 3 per leaf. Bloom: solitary or in clusters of 2 to 4 blooms; small, double; small eye in the centre; reflexed petals. Colour: shaded crimson-red. Fragrance: moderate to strong....Vibert...described it in his 1836 catalogue as "crimson spotted violet. On also finds this variety in the masculine form 'Cramoisi picoté' in certain catalogues of the era.
