This is a really great rose. It only grows in short spurts but has defended itself admirably against insect damage during a very heavy aphid infestation this spring. The flowers are beautiful and last for a long time on the plant. I recommend it highly!

How is the bush of this rose? In my climate it does not grow very much and remains small. Does any of you have one that has reached the size indicated?

Pretty small compared to my other roses. I've had it since the fall of 2011 and it's not even two feet tall. The canes do have a tendency to flop, though.

It is about 5 feet in our garden in zone 7b. Height might also depend on the understock used.

In my Spokane (zone 5/6) garden it’s at least as large as described. Super tough and suckers a bit. Mine is own-root. It’s plenty vigorous!

Your Allegra is beautiful. I just bought (ordered) Allegra and can not wait to see her grow. We are in Massachusetts, so hopefully we will have similar luck with Allegra. Love your photos. Colleen (zone 6a)

In my blackspot-ravaged Zone 6b garden (and I do spray with Actinovate weekly) this rose is one of the few plants with clean foliage.It's mid-October in CT, now, and it's still putting out perfect pink blooms. I couldn't be happier with this rose! If only my other roses did so well this year...

Love your comments on Quietness!
I am in 6a and I just bought one from ARE.
Can you please tell me if it is mounding in growth form? I am wondering how it would look growing alone or should I pair it with other large rise bushes. Any other information as to size would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Colleen

We haven't had a lot of rain this spring, and Marianne is looking gorgeous in our Zone 6b CT garden! Her performance really depends on the weather, but she's probably my favorite rose of the year.

Leene, I am also in Conn!! loaded with antique roses, Charles de Mills etc
used to buy from PIckering Nurseries in the 90's
