This is a stunning rose in colour and form, I rather wish it was available commercially or lesser still know its lineage!

This does appear to be a x reversa type hybrid spinosissima - suckers, arching, flower and height. As for hips the jury is out but would help greatly to a more definitive ID of parentage.

I presume that it produces the distinct maroon/black hips?

HAS THIS BOOK BEEN PUBLISHED? I have hunted high and low for it, not even the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh has replied to my question.
