The two pictures of this rose are so different. I obtained mine from Burlington and the other pictures appear to be from a botanic garden in Italy. does anyone have any additional information on that may help clarify which rose is correct. I'm assuming mine is the correct specimin, since Burling worked so close with Ralph Moore, but I'm curious of other's input as well.

I grow this rose in zone 7b, NJ, in clay soil that leans alkaline. It flowers often and the flowers really do look like smaller Heritage blooms, but they last quite a bit longer on the shrub than Heritage. The color varies with the seasons, from a lovely shell pink in spring to a deeper pink in summer and a very pale pink in late fall. I don’t notice any issues with heat tolerance. However, this rose has struggled through winter every year, with some cane dieback in spring. It recovers ok. It’s staying pretty compact for me; it’s just barely 2’ tall. I’ll need to move it forward in the border. I do very much like the blooms on this one, so it’s a keeper in my garden.

I recently ordered Mystic Beauty, and was surprised to learn that this rose is a pink sport of Kronprinzessin Viktoria, which is a white sport of the pink Souvenir de la Malmaison. Is it possible that Mystic Beauty is a reversion, rather than a new sport? It’d be genetically identical to SDLM, no?

Possibly, but you'd have to compare them side by side and evaluate.
I've grow both and still have KV. To my mind KV is different in it's growth habit and petal count among other things.
I suspect 'Mystic Beauty' is likely different enough to be considered it's own cultivar.
I have never grow Mystic Beauty but I've heard it's distinct and quite nice.

Thank you for your reply. Kronprinzessin Viktoria does have pointier petals than SDLM, so maybe Mystic Beauty does, as well. I’m looking forward to finding out! Rose genetics really are fascinating (and complicated).

If I understand correctly, rose DNA testing at its current level of detail wouldn't show any difference between those three roses.

I’ve bought three Marie Daly plants from three different sellers in the US, and not one of them looks like the pictures here. Two look very much like Marie Pavié, so I’m guessing they either reverted (is that possible?) or were mislabeled. The third is single-petaled. It’s a very nice shrub, thornless and bushy, but the flowers don’t have the same shape as Marie Pavié or my other two Marie Daly plants. Is it just me, or is it really hard to find an actual Marie Daly?
