For all who are asking about "Matson" - here goes:
George Matson was a pantomime artist on the American and French stage in the 1960s. He lived in Santa Rosa, CA in the 1980s to 2000s and was a gardener who revived and created old-style gardens and who used old roses extensively in his gardens.
"Bubble Bath" was his name for a foundling that he discovered in the garden of some friends in Sonoma County. It appeared to be a cross between the roses Kathleen (HM) and Cli. Cecile Brunner (Pol) both of which grew in that garden.
The above is from a close personal friend of Mr Matson's and an avid rose gardener. I was going MAD trying to find out - WHO WAS MATSON?! I lucked upon a connection and he graciously replied to my inquiry.
