Isn't this GABRIELLE not Gabriel? Which is truly correct? All reference material I have in my collection and several nurseries selling this rose I've encountered refer to the name as the female Gabrielle Noyelle. Not the masculine "Gabriel" like the angel as listed by HMF. However; it seems that just as many references and sources refer to this rose as "Gabriel".

It is correctly named 'Gabriel Noyelle', named after a friend of the breeder. All of the references contemporary with its introduction spelled it that way, and later references that noted its derivation did the same. Its name was only improperly feminized later.

Yes, it is Gabriel. We list the feminine "Gabrielle" in hidden form, so that the search function can still lead to 'Gabriel Noyelle'.
