Known in South Africa as Great Gatsby. Does well in full sun as well as semi-shade.

They certainly look the same. Do you have a reference which links them? We have
<2020. Great Gatsby DELludramel
<2021. Rally des Gazelles DELtoffee

Hi Patricia!

Ludwig's roses lists Great Gatsby as DELtoffee in their 2024 printed catalogue

Thanks Liezel, (and especially for the photo). Despite Ludwig calling the ‘Great Gatsby’ a hybrid tea, and Delbard calling ‘Rallye des Gazelles’ a floribunda, I have merged the pages.

I have it and it’s definitely an HT, not a floribunda.

Based on Ludwig's catalogue description, it appears that this rose is likely a cross between cherry garland and Nahema.

I do not think this is Sophie Rochas. I grow Sophie Rochas and it is a soft pink with serrated edges. The colour and shape does not match.

'Remember Me' and 'Fordyce' may be separate roses, but the South African breeder/introducer has used the same code, LUDwisutic, for both roses.

Hi Patricia. They are definitely separate roses although I know that Ludwig frequently uses the parents of his roses in the breeder's code. In this case I believe them to be Winter Sun and Arctic Ice. I think that both of them may possibly have the same parentage and a mix up might have occurred there.

I would love to separate them, but that one code stops me. I see you are in South Africa - can you check it out with Ludwig?

Dear Patricia

I have emailed Ludwig. Herewith his reply:

"Thanks for being so observant.

They were originally wisutic1, wisutic3, wisutic2,wisutic4 (Winter Sun x Arctic Ice)   Remember Me LUDwisutic,  La Fleurette LUDwiarc and let’s make FORDYCE LUDparkrun.

We will fix our labels now and for next catalogue."

Thank you so much Liezel - that was quick and efficient. I have separated the roses and added the same parentage for all three roses.
