Nope! Not incorrectly labeled. I submitted this photograph probably 5 or 6 years ago. This is an original rosebush from my Jackson & Perkin's test rose bush from the early 80's before it was ever named a Milestone. It is grown in Florida where perhaps our sandy soil and harsh summers with humidity cause the color to be not quite like what others are used to. Rest assured though it is a Milestone and one sniff of the blooms on this bush and you'd know for certain!

Hope you don't mind my input on this but do you have other photos of this particular "Milestone"? I have to admit the photo in question looks far more like "Headliner" which was a JP rose also introduced in the '80s. Milestone had a rounder shape to its petal configuration and was red/coral in color while headliner had more reflexed pointed petals and was cream shading to magenta/purple (as the rose in the photo also does). It is possible to have a mislabeled plant or even a sport. On the other hand, as you say, a lot depends on factors such as climate, location, and time of year.
