C. 'Dominika' clematis photo

Dominika with slightly faded older flowers below, and younger flower above, interesting how the angle of sun plays on the colors. The surprising reddish-purple highlights are over-done by the camera, you seem them but less strongly in the older and paler flowers. Location Tasmania, early autumn and late afternoon setting sun.

C. viticella 'Blue Belle' clematis photo

First year plants growing well in Tasmania, Blue Belle is here with Tex. 'Duchess of Albany' , they both flowered extremely well from mid-summer thru early autumn, The Belle grew to 2 meters tall in its 1st season. They received late afternoon sun only, but lots of water. The dark blue-violet color of the Belle is almost right in this photo, and the hints of purple-red are there, only very subtle, but the camera brings them out more. When you back away, the reddish hints disappear, and all you see is the rich blue-violet color that makes this Belle so impressive.
