05/29/2009: TN, US: These blooms are much prettier than the first few--I think the wet weather ruined the first set.

5/20/2009: TN, US My first opening bud--I'm very excited! This plant has not been sprayed at all, and it has been an extremely wet 2 months. I notice now some black spot, but the plant held a long time with none at all.

5/22/2009 TN, US The first bloom, now faded, I like this photo, despite it being of the faded bloom--You can see the stamens and inner parts well, and even though it is daylight, you can see how dark the petals turn before they fall. The little bee was a suprise visitor. You can see some of the leaf coloring, edged in red, as well as a little of the bright red coloring at the leaf base. This is really just a baby rose, just planted this spring.
