Definitely a favorite. No BS in the hot humid deep South, and never without blooms--gorgeous blooms that stay that way on both the bush and in a vase. Very easy to grow--no Diva this one. Love it.

Based on everyone's comments I planted this rose last year. While it bloomed like crazy, it was decimated by blackspot each year. I live in the NY area, and with all the rain we've gotten, this rose was totally covered with blackspot. I finally gave up and removed it. A real disappointment considering how many blooms it had.

Try Milano Kolorscape. Similar color and size, without the healthy issues and mean prickles.

I purchased an own-root baby plant of Colorific, and it has put on quite a bit of growth. I don't have too much to say about it yet as it's just getting it's start but the fragrance on this rose is great!. It's only put out 1 little baby bloom and a couple of buds which have yet to open but the fragrance is much stronger than mild. It smells similar to Fragrant Cloud, just not as strong. 1-10, I'd give the fragrance on this one a 6 or 7.

Update: I guess this rose is a practical joker. That first bloom smelled awesome, but all the others since I'd have to give a 4 on the strength of fragrance. Still nice but not as strong. :-(
Also, we started getting more sun and this rose has turned the most beautiful shade of soft red...no blue tones. I can't wait to see what this rose does when it gets a little warmer. I have high hopes for this one!
Also the blooms last about a week and a half on the bush.

Posted several pics for you. I hope they help, though my plant is still fairly small. But it's had some NICE blooms! I think this one will be a real winner for me.

This rose is more pink and white than red and white. Not sure what everyone elses experiences is.

This post is incorrect as you have posted a "Reply" to an existing post instead of adding a new post of your own. What you want to use in this case is the "POST NEW COMMENT button found next to the My HMF just under the tabs.

Using the REPLY button would be appropriate if you could enlighten us about the nursery "Hunters" mentioned in the previous post for this discussion.

Vigorous plant but the color is too dark for me. Also when they fade, they turn almost black. Smells great, but prefer a brighter rose.

It would be better if you uploaded specific rose photos using the plant photo upload button found on the Photos tab of the appropriate rose instead of attaching them to your comments.

Attaching your photo to your comment limits its exposure to your comment instead of along with all the other photos for this rose shown on the Photos tab.

Most of all, thanks for your contributions to the site and for supporting HMF with a premium membership.
