Michael, I've really enjoyed reading about each of your roses! I would especially like to grow this one and shadow ninja if you decide to sell them in the future. Thanks, Matt Nichols

This rose has been a workhorse! It is ever blooming, disease free, moderate fragrance, heat tolerant and cold tolerant. I have it growing at my Mom's place in Missouri z6 and at my place in TX z8b. A very tough plant- just like it's 'earthkind' parent 'la marne'. The coloring is a nice also. I highly recommend it!

Hi Matt N--
I'm interested in several cultivars that I gather you have:
Mrs BR Cant Perle d'Or White Pearl in a Red Dragon's Mouth
Would you be interested in arranging a trade? Please check the list of roses in my garden and let me know if there's anything you'd like. Ideally, I'd like to swap 10 cuttings of each cultivar.
Cheers--
Melanie

I expect I will grow it another two years before I make any decisions about its long term merit. Glad you like it!

The flowers remind me of Tradescant, a rose that Austin released without any hesitation. That said, Tradescant was a rather miserable grower for me, with rather weak and floppy canes. It did flower well, but the blooms browned horribly in the rather tepid sun of San Francisco. I can't imagine how they would fare in a hotter climate. Despite this rather dubious performance, Tradescant sold well for a number of years before being withdrawn from the market. Sometimes flower color trumps everything. I bet you'd find many folks willing to trial this rose for you, me included!

Its no coincidence that it has 'Tradescant' as a grandparent. :-)
