Definitely not Full Moon Rising. More likely it is Lunar Mist.

update on sombreuil: I have noticed that sombreuil is too delicate for hot temperatures. This rose burns above 80 degree. I have 2, one takes the back fence the other on the arbor. I have noticed that the roses were burned when it got hotter. I have also reported this problem with eden climber(meiland). So it is truly disturbing to me to have to shovel such beautiful hardy roses, but i cannot keep them when all they do is burn. If anyone has a idea of roses that are climbers that are also good cutting roses that i can replace these with i would appreciate your suggestions.

I have grown this rose in Sacramento since 2000. It does extremely well here in the heat and we have summer temps regularly in the 90's as well as some triple digit days. I don't think the burning is due to the rose but to possible cultural or other causes. Maybe watering more often would take care of the problems you are having or possibly there might a spider mite problem that would look like burning. I suggest you go to your local master gardeners at the county agricultural extension and have them look at the burned leaves to determine the cause before you get rid of them.

Thank you SacRoseMan, this is just the kind of member interaction we had hoped more members would have.

It may be thrips, like Jeff suggests. It gets hot here in the west bay area, but I've never had burnt blooms. I've had this growing on an 8 ft redwood trellis fence for nine years, and it spills into a crabapple too. I posted pics taken during warm weather recently. It was well above 80 degrees that day. I love it, and I am glad I planted it where no one would brush by because it DOES have big sharp thorns. The scent is like no other - an ethereal delight!

Looks to be White La France also named Augustine Guinoisseau. I have both La France and White La France in my garden.
