HelpMeFind's future is in your hands - Please do not take this unique resource for granted.

Your support of HelpMeFind is urgently needed. HelpMeFind, like all websites, needs funding to survive. We have set a premium-membership yearly subscription amount as low as possible to make user-community funding viable.

We are grateful to the many members who have signed up so far, but the number of premium-membership members remains too small for us to sustain the current support and development level. If you value HelpMeFind and want to see it continue we need your support too.

Yearly membership is only $2.00 per month and adds a host of additional features, and numerous planned enhancements, to take full advantage of the power and convenience of HelpMeFind. Click here to start your premium membership..

We of course also welcome donations of any amount. Click here to make a donation. Donations of $24 or more receive a thank-you gift of a 1-year premium membership.

As far as we have come, we feel HelpMeFind is still in its infancy. With your support we have so much more to accomplish.

Andrew Wilson Campbell (1852 Scotland - December 5, 1917 Clontarf, County Dublin), Head gardener of Olivier Charlotte Guinness, Lady Ardilaun (August 27, 1850 - December 13, 1925) at St. Anne's Estate, Clotarf, outside of Dublin

[From Find a Grave ] In the 1901 census, the Campbell family were living at Bettyville, Clontarf.
present were, Andrew Campbell, aged 49, a Gardener, born in Scotland. Hannah, his wife, aged 39, born in Co. Kerry. [and 5 children]

[From Irish Gardening, January 1918, p. 13:]  Andrew Campbell of St. Anne's, Clontarf .... He came to St. Anne's in the year 1869 at the age of 17.... He rose to be foreman. and, after some years, went to my cousin, Harry Herbert, of Muckross, and to the Railway Hotel at Killarney, as Head Gardener. In these two places he remained for 6 years, and then came to us at Ashford as Head Gardener, where he was for 14 years, and returned to St. Anne's in 1895. so that he has been with us for the whole of his working life, 48 years, with the exception of the 6 years that he was at Killarney. As you know, he raised the fine Lobelias, Firefly, Lord Ardilaun and Gloire de St. Anne's, besides other seedlings which we did not name, and he was the first raiser of a seedling from the white Anemone Honorine Joubert, which he named Lady Ardilaun, and which at the time made a great sensation, and was noticed by French nurserymen. He also raised at St. Anne's the charming little Rose, Souvenir de St. Anne's.
