The breeder is Southwick Cary Briggs of Washington, D.C. See publication Gardening, March 1, 1910, p. 187. His occupation was Real Estate, and he was born September 18, 1866, in Albany, New York (see Register of the Society of Colonial Wars in the District of Columbia, 1904, p. 54).

Thank you for the full name. We have added a number of references to the person and to 'Alice of Ingleside', which was probably dedicated to the breeder's wife, Alice Chase. One of the parents given looks suspiciously like 'Dorothy Perkins'.
