Green apples is a common scent found among the older types of ramblers, particularly those that have been derived from the species Rosa luciae, instead of the more common Rosa wichuraiana. The well-known Albéric Barbier, which is still to be seen in gardens today, is a particularly good example of this type. Others are Alexandre Girault, François Juranville and the violet-coloured Veilchenblau.
