By 1925, Frank Leith Skinner opened, on his Dropmore homestead, the Manitoba Hardy Plant Nursery (renamed Skinner's Nursery Ltd. in 1949). Skinner's Nursery Limited of Manitoba, Canada put out an annual catalog of hardy plants.
