Central Texas: Informal blooms with strong fragrance. Compact growth. Good repeat. Buds sometimes very slow to open. Nice red color. "Bluing" only occurs in the hottest of weather.
This is always the first to bloom and is usually the last. Repeat is very good. Fragrance is moderate to mild. Fairly resistant to spot. Short to medium height - don't put this at the back of the border. One of my favorites among the roses I grow. (Central Texas)
This is a beautiful rose and a handsome bush. It does benefit from a little shade. The fragrance is strong and the color changes are amazing to watch. It is also a relatively slow opener - so you get to enjoy it longer on the plant. It will get spot if not sprayed regularly - and it will spread quickly. I found that using organic preventatives was sufficient, but you must be consistent in application or the fungus will get the best of this one. (Central Texas)
