Hello Jedmar, did you notice this picture seems to be the same as Stargold 1936 ?

It's frustrating when that sort of thing happens. I've noticed that in the same book (Climbing Roses) the photo they use for 'Countess of Stradbroke' is the photo used for 'William Orr' in some American catalogues. We need more photos to determine which roses are which.

That is true, and I realize many modern roses are almost undocumented when it comes to pictures.

No, I hadn't. I am supposing that the earlier photo in Stevens' book is correctly labeled, and that the Inter-State nurseries later appropriated the photo for 'Stargold'. I will make a note to both
