'Dr. Huey' is a rose that has been used as a root stock in the American rose industry since the 1930's. You can do a search for comments about root stocks by clicking the SEARCH POSTS tab on the Q & A FORUM and entering "root stock" in the SEARCH field. You'll find a lot of information on how this rose has been used and about some of the problems caused by this root stock.

Dr. Robert Huey was a well-known American rosarian and rose exhibitor of the late 1800's and early 1900's. Captain George Thomas honored Dr. Huey with this rose named after him. in 1914. Captain Thomas credited Dr. Huey with introducing him in roses and rose-breeding.
