Yes, Jay-Jay, those dots are actually a deep raspberry pink and appear on every bloom and thus give a definite clue as to the identity. They are tiny curled modified petals which they call petaloids, I believe. Thanks for your comment!

Are those red spots in the center of the roseflower typical for this rose? Then it might be a distinctive characteristic feature.
The opened flower is a lookalike of a Rhododendron-flower with those red dots!
