i recently discovered this picture which clearly shows mme jules gravereaux's squat and flat bottomed buds, as do the cultivars of it at l'hay-les-roses. in the sangerhausen collection, mme jules gravereaux has all the characteristics of another variety with oblong, strongly ciliated sepals twisting above the bud who's bottom is of a more slender shape: this variety matches comtesse de noghera in commerce and equally in the sangerhausen collection. where did the plant in the photograph came from?

There are many similarities with comtesse de noghera, but my rose is climber .
