Former Public Protector, Prof. Thuli Madonsela has done much for our country, from being instrumental in drafting South Africa’s constitution to being a true crusader, a champion of anti-corruption and clean governance. This rose represents the spirit of what she stands for, an advocate for gender equality and the advancement of women in a socially just society The ‘Thuli Madonsela’ rose is one of the new Stamina roses that is vigorous, with strong roots and disease-resistant leaves, able to thrive despite climatic stresses. Its striking two-tone pink and white blooms have a perfect hybrid tea shape but are carried in clusters like a floribunda rose. It grows to chest height and can be grown in a large container, as a bedding rose or on its own as a specimen. A portion of the price of the rose will go to the ThuMa foundation, a public benefit organisation to deepen and defend democracy and the rule of law.
