David Austin jr. talking about this rose (in Bunny Guiness youTube : ‚David Austin Junior‘s Fantastic Garden with Great tips on roses‘ ; july 2024) from min. 9.38 to about 11.06:
this is a lovely rose; it is a scottish rose; very thorny; supposed to be very hardy; one of the last roses that my father was really excited about; I nearly named it after him, but , I didn‘t , because this very good rose might probably get a little bit of disease- so for David Austin jr. it lacked absolut perfection; it has beautiful large flower; the foliage is old, airy (in comparison to dense foliage like Eustacia Vye has; we love that about this rose; we are always looking for that in our roses if we can get it, because in theory air movement should keep the disease away ;

Compact but blooms like crazy, it holds it flowers for around a week, healthy bush but VERY thorny. I can only get mild fragrance out of it but it's in a shade of a tree (gets only 2-3 hrs of direct sun) which could be the reason. I think this is a good option for those small spaces and patios, also would bloom profusely even next to a north facing wall..

England, 2021.. this is an update..

... the blooms start out lemon yellow, with cream outer petals but the yellow quickly fades, leaving a creamy white rose behind, which lasts longer...
...so whilst the two tone effect is nice when the fresh yellow flowers opens, the overall lasting effect seems to be creamy white, but always with some freshly opening yellow blooms which have a strong citrus scent..

..an excessively prickly, yet graceful elegant shrub so far but needs careful placing if the thorns are not going to offend... it's also very vigorous, sending up frequent prickly shoots from the base.. I think it's quite beautiful, airy and graceful in the right place ..

Maybe this is a Yellow sport from Lochinvar? I will observe them in my Garden :-)
