The bizarre prickle type is similar to Sunrise Vigorosa, and the pollen parent in the patent seems similar to it. Some type of relation may be possible. A superior rose to Sunrise Vigorosa by far, however.

Hi Michael, does this impress you as perhaps having anything to do with The Fairy? Kordes seems to have used The Fairy quite a bit and I try to avoid it at all costs as it, and its close offspring are horrible in my climate. But, I'm always looking for a healthy, good yellow for breeding. Any thoughts or impressions? Thanks! Kim

Almost all of the Kordes, Noack, and Meilland "wichurana types" are derivatives of The Fairy and Temple Bells. Poulsen started it, and they finished it. lol.

I would use it. It's a wonderful rose. Select a female mate with low prickle dominance.

This has been a great rose, so far. Good yellow, no disease issues in its first year. Good repeat.
