In the Rosa carbonara, (of Prevost,) the flower-stalk is pubescent previous to the blooming of the flower, and becomes smooth when it is fully blown.

Pink or Flesh-coloured Flowers.
55. Rosa Carbonara.
Shrub, very vigorous.
Branches, long, rather sarmentous.
Thorns, strong, uneven, hooked; interspersed with numerous glandulous bristles.
Stipules, narrow.
Leaflets, seven in number; near together, oval-lanceolated, very sharp.
Flowerstalks, hispid and glandulous.
Flowers, middle-sized, semi-double; of a pale or light pink.
Petals, the inner one uniform.
Styles, detached.
This rose is considered a hybrid of the Sempervirens. It flowers twice a-year.

Noisettes...Carbonara. Very beautiful, little fragrance. Pale pink, pales continuously, little Noisette fragrance, 2 in., quite double, light form. Inflorescence. Not in clusters, but 1-2 blooms on stalks. Foliage very fine. Blooming period. Blooms only twice a year, but via strong pruning she can be brought to bloom a third time.

Fleurs roses ou carnées.
Rosa carbonara; Prévost. Arbrisseau très vigoureux, à rameaux longs, un peu sarmenteux, armés d'aiguillons forts, inégaux, crochus, entremêlés de poils nombreux et glanduleux; stipules étroites; sept folioles rapprochées, ovales-lancéolées, très aiguës; pédoncules hispides-glanduleux; tube de calice glabre après l'épanouissement; sépales glanduleuses; fleurs moyennes, semi-doubles, d'un rose pâle ou clair; à pétales intérieurs cuneiformes; styles libres.
Cet arbrisseau est regardé comme hybride de sempervirens. Il fleurit deux fois par an.
