"Weller Bourbon" Bourbon. Good, reliable rebloom. Outstanding fragrance. Long basal canes. Unknown, found...Strong, purple-brown canes, tall, smooth and arching; growth similar to Mme. Isaac pereire. Pink touched salmon blooms open full of petals from scrolled buds, ivory at the petal bases. Delicate, spicy perfume. Highly recommended.

Bourbons. "Mme. La Général Paul de Benoist". Another rose of mistaken identity received from Europe by the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden. This rose turns out to be identical to the mystery rose we know as "Weller Bourbon"...Though the European form sheds no light on the correct identity, at least it confirms this was a rose grown in notable gardens. It does not conform to early descriptions of the rose of this name which indicate a salmon-gold Tea Noisette climber.
