To Rosa austriaca striata [sic] (votes, unanimous), from A. Tate, Esq., Downside, Leatherhead (gr. Mr. Mease). One of the most beautiful of the Austrian Briars, the flowers being deep yellow in the centre, shading off to deep brownish-red at the margins.

A handsome Austrian briar rose was sent by Mr. A. Tate, Downside, Leatherhead; it was named Austria striata (Award of Merit.); the flowers are single, golden-copper in centre, flushed and streaked with red from the margin inwards.
