Harkness say they realised early on, that the free-flowering nature of this rose is closely linked to its disease tolerance: a rose that is not weakened by disease will grow readily, thus providing the basis for continuity in flower production. The flower has a characteristic central eye and an unusual scent, a blend of musk with a fruity, almost citrus base, best enjoyed when flowers are cut for indoor decoration.
