Introduced in France by Louis Noisette in 1820 as 'Belle de Monza'.
Introduced in France by Jean-Pierre Vibert in before 1829 as 'Belle de Monza'.
Class:
China / Bengale, Hybrid China.  
Bloom:
Deep pink to purple, lighter center, mottling.  Average diameter 2".  Medium, double (17-25 petals), cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Upright.  Large, glossy foliage.  5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 7b through 10b.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).

See also 'Serratipetala'. 'Bella di Monza' in gardens and in commerce may be mislabeled.
'Belle de Florence' is possibly a distinct rose.
