Bred by Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II (1891-1976) (Germany, circa 1960).
Class:
Climber, Large-Flowered Climber, Shrub.  
Bloom:
Deep pink, silver(y) reverse, ages to lighter .  Mild to strong, apple fragrance.  100 to 142 petals.  Average diameter 4".  Large, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, in large clusters bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  
Habit:
Tall, climbing.  Large, glossy, medium green foliage.  

Height: 6'7" to 12' (200 to 365cm).  Width: 6' to 10' (185 to 305cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b and warmer.  Can be used for cut flower, garden, landscape or pillar.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .  Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).

According to the New Zealand Plant Variety Rights (PVR) web page, application for a PVR Grant for this rose was made April 2, 1979 and granted February 4, 1981 (PVR Grant No. 113). The breeder's Reference for this rose is Uetersen. This PVR Grant was surrendered February 4, 1990.
