Page 121: Baronne Prévost Hybrid Perpetual Jean Desprez [with Cochet] 1842 Page 207: Eugène Guenoux, a fancier and breeder of Dahlias at Voisenon, near Melun, [was the] brother of Mme. la Baronne Prévost, after whom the Hybrid Perpetual ['Baronne Prévost'] bred by Guenoux' friend Desprez was named.

Ses rameaux raides hérissés de courts aiguillons rouges… il réclame le soleil et un sol riche pour refleurir tout l’été. Desprez avait vendu à Cochet Père, pour 100 francs, les droits d’édition de cette rose; c’est le plus ancien hybride remontant encore en vente. Desprez, France, 1842. RHS Award of Garden Merit, 1993.
